Rental Kitchen Makeover
I’m more partial to white and bright spaces, but the masculinity of my kitchen is actually growing on me. I lease my apartment so I couldn’t make any permanent changes but I definitely wanted to make it more aesthetically pleasing.. so I ripped the doors off!
Here is the before photo. I love the contrast of the black cabinets against the white quartz counter tops.
+ ta da! I’m a big fan of open shelving, so taking the cabinet doors off was easy peezy. As a disclaimer, this look is not for everyone. It’s higher maintenance and if you are not neat + organized it will be an eye sore. You want to avoid “open-clutter” so only put your display worthy items on your shelves. The idea is to mix functional with decorative without overcrowding. I eventually am going to replace my cabinet pulls with restoration hardware, but for now this will suffice.
These canisters are super practical and easy access for things I grab most. They can be found here.
I love the look of the subway tile backsplash. It tied the whole kitchen together and created a more homey feel. The best part is, it’s removable wallpaper and can be taken off without damaging the paint underneath. It’s textured and looks just like the real thing! You can purchase it here. I got a little lazy towards the end, but I plan on adding to this wall in the near future.
Once I settle in more I’ll update this kitchen post. Thanks for stopping by!
